		<description>This is interesting and I agree with many of the things Mr. Zubrin states here. Except... using ethanol as the alternative fuel of choice. 

Engines running on ethanol are about 15% less efficient than engines running on regular gasoline. Diesel engines on the other hand are about 20 % MORE efficeint than gasoline engines (See new VW commercial comparing to Prius). 

In Europe about 50% of all vehicles run on Diesel. In the US its less than 1%!!. So... if we are going to pass a law, why don&#039;t we favour diesel engines instead? 

If we could reach the same % of vehicles as Europe has, how much oil would we save? 

I am all for renewables, but I also understand that the cheapest form of enery is saved energy. In this case its called negagallons.</description>
